It is still more and more difficult to obtain justice in the court in Czech Republic. Business disputes, often quite clear, last often several years thanks to obstructions. The businessmen around the world faced similar problems in the past and searched for alternative ways. One of them is the arbitration.

Development of FNUSA-ICRC Project

The project of the International Clinical Research Centre currently emerging at St. Anna Teaching Hospital in Brno (FNUSA-ICRC) began its history in 2001.

When the conversation turns to famous villas in Brno, everybody somehow thinks of Villa Tugendhat. Villa Tugendhat certainly is the most famous one. After all, it made it to the list of world cultural heritage, but it also has just as remarkable predecessors. One of them is even directly related to its origin – Löw-Beer Villa in Drobného street now getting ready for a major reconstruction. Villa Tugendhat was built on its original land.

The city of Brno pursuing its development, fortunately does not stand alone. The Regional Operational Programme (ROP) South-East is a major supporter thanks to which the Regional Council of South-East solidarity have helped the development of Brno City with 250 million CZK. For the purposes of the development projects of the Statutory City of Brno, 250 million CZK from ROP South-East have been gained to this date. Additional 625 million CZK will be paid to Brno City for the ongoing projects. The approved grant from ROP South-East will help Brno City development with nearly 850 million CZK.

Popularizing certain natural sciences, higher education, extensive research projects and supporting young talents, disabled visitors, incoming tourism, production events of any kind and various professional groups – these are the objectives of the new Brno Observatory and Planetarium, which is opening its doors to the public in November of this year.

Central European Institute of Technology CEITEC, for 5.2 billion Czech crowns, will be launched in Brno in three years' time. Finances for the construction of the European Centre of Research Excellence were obtained by Brno universities and research institutions from the Operational Programme 'Research and Development for Innovation' in June. This institute, linking the research in natural sciences and in technical fields, will employ up to 600 researchers, over 1.200 students including Czech and foreign companies. CEITEC will also help achieve top level of ongoing basic and applied research across Czech Republic.

In dynamically developing cities, a part of a modern urban concept is the emergence of new city centres. Existing historical centres do not satisfy current needs any more. Offices of growing companies require advanced technological facilities, representation of regional, national and supranational institutions is increasing and modern shopping and community centres require a direct connection with residential complexes. It is impossible to fit all this in the historic centre, not even in an architecturally stabilized Brno central zone. Therefore, Brno authorities have decided to build a new South Centre in the vicinity of the historic centre.
